Summer weather has seen some serious heat in our weekly Sneaker Showcase series but nothing beats getting out and meeting sneaker enthusiasts in person. For the #sneakerholics in the United States, Dunkxchxnge has a trio of events to keep you busy this weekend.
Satudrday, July 21st Miami will be the place to be as fans of the Miami Heat and LeBron James will see Dunkxchange arrive at Off Tha Hookah from 1pm to 6pm local time.
Now that spring time is upon us, at least those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we can head out to local sneaker events with some rare kicks without the fear of weather ruining our day. This weekend, one of the most official sneaker events in all of the Washington DC area takes place in Baltimore. The Baltimore Sneaker Show 2K12 takes place at the Carmelo Anthony Center in Baltimore Saturday from 6pm until 10pm. Along with sneaker battles, giveaways, contests and live music, none other than sneaker enthusiast and hip-hop sensation Stalley will be performing and doing a meet-and-greet.
Not only that, we hear the after party for the Baltimore Sneaker Show, dubbed Project Kix, is just as live. Bring your kicks to sell or trade, buy your grails and meet fellow sneaker enthusiasts and be sure to take a few extra pair of unwanted kicks to donate to the SneakerDrive, which will be donated to local youth charities.
Dunkxchange continues their 2012 tour with two stops in the desert of the southwestern United States. First up, Sin City’s Hard Rock Cafe right on the strip will host DXC on Valentine’s Day, February 14th from 5pm-10pm. The Phoenix suburb of Tempe, Arizona, home of Arizona State University and solid population of sneaker enthusiasts will then host the Dunkxchange Saturday, February 18th. The Tempe event runs from 1pm to 6pm at 910 Live and is sponsored by Bobby Fresh and The HypeRack.
With that said, both events should be well worth your time. Bring your kicks because there will be other sneakerholics on hand looking to land a pair of their grails, whether it be from buying, selling or trading. Be sure to share your pictures from the event with us on Twitter.
After hitting up Orlando and Miami, Florida last weekend, the Dunkxchange traveling sneaker event is heading to the west coast this weekend. Both Southern California and Northern California #sneakerholics will get a chance to kick it with other sneaker enthusiasts. While down in Texas, one of the most popular semi-annual sneaker events in the USA will be going down at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas.
The H-Town Sneaker Summit is known to bring out some of the most well known sneaker enthusiasts from all over the Southern United States. This year’s winter event, held Sunday, January 29th, is sure to do the same. The event runs from 3pm until 8pm and we hear there will not only be plenty of entertainment at the event itself but at before and after parties as well.
For SoCal, Orange County to be exact, the Dunkxchange takes place in Fullerton at Cantina Lounge in Fullerton on Saturday, January 28th. The event runs from 12-5pm with DJ Ernie G and DJ Episode providing music for guests. Get there early for a t-shirt giveaway from IMKING to the first 25 people. For NorCal, San Francisco’s NV is the place to be on Sunday, January 29th. For this event, “swag bags” and new laces for your sneakers will be handed out courtesy of Fully Laced. The SF Dunkxchange event runs from 1pm-6pm.
If you’re planning on attending any of this weekend’s events, be sure to share pics with us. For more details check out the fliers here or head to Dunkxchange.com or htownsneakersummit.com
The new year is three weeks old and sneaker enthusiasts are already back in the swing of things for 2012 thanks to the people at Dunkxchange. Last week they were in Seattle but this weekend they’ve got back-to-back events for #sneakerholics in Florida.
Saturday, January 21st, DXC will hit the fun and sun of South Beach with an all ages event at So Cool Evenue. Then Dunkxchange will turn right around and do it again in Orlando at the Substance Gallery with DJ Infader spinning tunes for those in attendance.
Bring your kicks and be prepared to buy, sell and trade, and check out some of the collections from local exhibitors.
