We can finally announce guest judge DJ Clark Kent’s decision for the Air Force 1 edition of Crate of the Month – it goes to Sneakepedia member @p_e_gee He fended off some serious competition to come out on top and receive Clark’s seal of approval. This was probably the hardest month the competition has seen so far and all credit must go to all the sneakerholics that took time out to upload their Uptown heat and enter their crate.

Right on the heels of the announcement of the Crate of the Month “Holiday” winners we are pleased to announce the first competition of 2013. For the month of February the theme for the latest Sneakerpedia Crate of the Month is the iconic Air Force 1. To judge this contest the big guns were brought in. Air Force 1 afficiando and one of the biggest #sneakerholics of the world, DJ Clark Kent will be the lead judge on who wins best AF1 crate. Back in 2006 Nike collaborated with New York artist Stash once again for a special two-pack of sneakers. Stash had worked with Nike on a number of other projects, including kicks like another Air Force 1, as well as the Air Classic BW. This release became one of Stash’s most popular designs, thanks to being placed on two of the most iconic shoes in Nike history, the Air Force 1 Low and Air Max 95, named the “Blue Pack”. For this special pack the artist was inspired by the Nike ACG line using high end materials like regrind rubber, Climafit and water resistant textiles. Continue reading

Five years ago in 2007 Nike had special plans to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Air Force 1. Throughout the year a slew of special Air Force 1’s were released, along with a revised version of the sneaker named the Air Force XXV. This version of the classic featured revised dubrays, uppers, as well as redone midsoles that had the air unit’s exposed similar to the Air Max lineup. As well as the newly rehashed sneaker Nike created versions of the regular Air Force 1 with the modified exposed air units seen on the rear of the midsole as well. Continue reading
