With Air Max Day looming large Nike have been going in hard on the build up with 7 days of Air Max and last night was no exception premiering this short film Masters of Air featuring some incredible Air Max collectors. We don’t want to drag this copy out longer than we need so let us wrap up by saying just watch this, it is a wickedly good film, oh and this quote from the great man.
“This isn’t about me or even Nike. The product isn’t something you wear, it’s something that you live. Thank you, for letting me come along for the ride”
Tinker Hatfield 2016
Four year is not a long time when we think about iconic sneakers, a lot of our favourite most cherished silhouettes have been around for 15, 20, 25 years and more. Flyknit made such a huge impact when it debuted and it’s such a huge part of Nikes frontline product you’d be forgiven for thinking it has been around a lot longer than just 4 years. To visualise it’s short but pioneering history so far Nike have produced this awesome infographic, enjoy!
“Four years after Nike Flyknit was publicly unveiled, the groundbreaking technology continues to redefine performance-engineered footwear. Flyknit unlocks new possibilities for Nike designers to micro-engineer every stitch of an upper, scientifically tuned to meet the exact specifications of athletes. Flyknit also breaks the mould of sustainable performance, not only shaving ounces off each shoe upper, but saving millions of pounds of waste from ever reaching landfills.”
The Air Force 1 is easily one of the most famous sneakers of all time of any brand. Since it’s introduction in 1982 the Bruce Kilgore design has taken on many changes, adaptations, modifications, applications and upgrades. You can see them all here on this dope graphic just published by Nike. We like how they have reference some pretty sweet editions from over the years.
“The test of time is not a model of monotony but, rather, an exercise in progress, which is why the Air Force 1 has never stopped evolving. Over the years, the iconic design has undergone subtle updates to reflect the current moment, without sacrificing its distinct DNA. For the first time ever, those form and structure changes have been documented and displayed in one place: The Morphology of Air Force 1. “

A couple of weekends ago we were in attendance at Sneakerness Paris. After visiting the event last year we were expecting big things for 2015 and we weren’t disappointed. Taking place at the same location, the amazing Centquarte we noticed a few alterations to the space to make the event even bigger allowing more space tables, vendors, brands and most importantly sneakerheads. There were Sneakerness collaborations from Puma, Filling Pieces, Burlington and Swatch not to mention branded water and burgers, yes burgers! We must give a big shout out to the incredible amount of work that Francky.B and the Sneakerness team put in to make this the best Sneakerness yet. We can’t wait to see you next year. Please check some of the images we took over the weekend sneakerholics.
