The Chinese Year of the Snake is nearly over, soon to be replaced by the Year of the Horse. And sneaker brands had plenty of fun throwing snakeskin and print onto many sneakers in 2013. But one of our favorite sneakers to subtly feature the special print wasn’t released recently but back in 2009. Nike SB released this premium suede purple Blazer that quickly grew popular amongst sneakerholics.
Nike SB Blazer “Purple Rain”
Supreme and Nike SB had a very popular trip of Blazer’s featuring snakeskin Swooshes and this more easily obtainable version followed that lead. The purple body was offset with a black/gold snakeskin Swoosh and a black heel. The classic white sole was added that offset strongly with the upper as well as a great choice for skateboarding usage, if that’s your cup of tea. The sneakers came factory tied up with black laces but an extra pair of purple shoe laces were included as well.
Proving that a simple body with a strong accenting feature can be a winning formula, this purple Blazer didn’t sit on retailer shelves for too long.
