Event: Crepe City 9 – Saturday 30th November – London

Crepe City 9
Saturday 30th November 2013
Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London
11 AM – 6PM

The Crepe City Sneaker Festival is back to end the year with the largest sneaker culture event that the UK has ever seen. Since its’ first outing in 2006 was attended by a handful of sneaker collectors, Crepe City has grown to become a cant-miss event for London’s street culture and a celebration of art, fashion and music and all things sneaker. It attracts people from around the UK and Europe looking to pick up a unique pair of rare and vintage trainers at a fair price, as well as ‘sneakerheads’, fans of streetwear and 90’s throwback fashion. As the first sneaker festival in the UK Crepe City has inspired other events to pop-up in the past year but a 2000 strong crowd and 20,000 instagram supporters are testament to it’s popularity and cross-over appeal.

Novembers’ event sees a change of format and a move into three rooms of the spacious Old Truman Brewery venue. There will be well over 2000 trainers for sale from over 50 UK and European shoe sellers showcasing the rarest stock from the UK’s favourite brands including; Nike, Asics, Adidas and New Balance.

Hip Hop, Trap & Rap DJ’s will play at the Wray & Nephew Rum Bar all day and Brixton’s Wishbone will keep the crowd fed. Hammersmith Tattoo are attending with a range of Michael Jordan inspired designs and Hackney’s 3DPrintLab will make a 3D Printed trainer on the day.

As a special event for this event Crepe City have brought a world first exclusive Michael Jordan exhibition curated by sneaker collector Gerard Starkey (@Gerard_OG_VI) to London.

This display will feature an incredible collection of shoes worn by Michael Jordan whilst he was winning championships for the Chicago Bulls. An era which defines todays hip hop and street fashion. The showcase includes rare Jordan memorabilia, clothing and artwork specially commissioned for this event. This is a one-off event, seen for the first time and featuring shoes so rare that even Michael Jordan himself does not own.
