Sneaker Spotlight: Nike SB Dunk High “Boba Fett”

Boba Fett Mask

Not the first time and far from the last time a Star Wars character is the inspiration for a sneaker. In fact Boba Fett is so popular that the bounty hunter is seen in nearly every Star Wars film as well as rumored to possibly have his own spin-off movie in the future (fingers crossed). The Dunk High was a fitting choice as back in 2002 a white/black version was nicknamed the Stormtrooper.

This time under the Nike SB label, the sneaker was designated a premium model. So that meant the usage of higher end materials were chosen for this Dunk. Smooth supple leather in multiple shades that mimic Boba’s outfit is featured on the upper. A Dark Army suede toecap adds some contrast which leads up the lace paneling as well. From there you see the yellow/red tongue, the colors also featured on the all important Swoosh and heel tab. The colors all important accents on Boba’s outfit as well as on the sneaker.

Much like how the bounty hunter’s uniform was worn and beauty in the movies, the sneakers received a lot of character when worn constantly. The result a look that might have worked perfect on the character’s feet. The execution of the Boba Fett Dunk High represented the character so well that sneaker was taken apart by Freehand Profit and turned into a one of a kind helmet utilizing the entire SB model. A popular character, the limited model sold quickly and one that any Star Wars fan would love to have on their feet.
