Hawaii’s In4mation brand has grown beyond the islands and are known all around the globe. But at its core the brand is about skateboarding so teaming up with Vans has happened a number of times over the years. A few years back the In4mation team was allowed to work on arguably Steve Caballero’s most popular model, the Half Cab. Surprisingly their home island was the foundation on which the sneaker was built, but it’s look made it a popular attraction all over the world.

Denim can be both a good and bad thing on a sneaker design. This build is the former, featuring a full denim upper in either dark or light blue paneling. Tying together the sections was white stitching creating contrast and balance to the upper. The inner liner was a black and white “Houndstooth” also made into optional laces. Another special touch was the Houndstooth is also used in a tearaway-like feature under the denim. This meant the more you skate and wore them the more unique the sneaker was to you. Bringing it all together were red accents on areas including the iconic ankle tag and branded tongue. In4mation wanted these to be skated in, but with a rumored 500 pairs created we aren’t sure how many actually were. But luckily the pair on the Wikipedia is looking it’s never leaving the owner’s hands.
