The Nike Air Force 1 1World pack was a highly sought after pack created in partnership with global innovators in the fields of sport, music, art & design. 18 different artists were called upon to create their rendition of the iconic Air Force 1 to their vision. There are many standout pieces from the collective pack including the version created by ?uestlove from the Hip Hop group The Roots. ?uestlove is highly respected for being a star drummer, overall musician and can be seen on weeknights with his group on the Jimmy Fallon Show. Besides being a talented musician he is well-known in the sneaker community for rocking unique and rare kicks. So it was a no-brander for Nike to team up with ?uestlove  and let him unleash his imagination on his very own Air Force 1. The ending result was 2 pairs available for the public, one being a more limited release and one of which was a bit difficult to obtain.

The inspiration for this Air Force 1 Low was to showcase ?uestlove’s vibrant personality. “I just wanted to start off with a very loud statement, a sneaker that sort of has 12 exclamation points behind it. Something that just screams “Rahhhhrr” so you know, this is an extension of my personality.” The colors chosen were a deep burgundy leather and red canvas. A Metallic Gold Swoosh was also used but the most prominent feature may be the addition of elephant print. Chosen due to his love of the Air Jordan 3, it is seen in the form of Vivid Green on the side panel, lacestays and the entire midsole. Additional details were the addition of the his face silhouette lasered on the heel that is also found on the tongue label as well.

Whereas that version was the more general limited release there was a second rare pair as well. Limited to a rumored 25 pairs, this pair were named the “gold toes”, appropriately so as the toebox was clad in the same Metallic Gold as the Swoosh. There were also gold laces and heel tab were added as well. The special things about these versions were that they were stashed within the regular release and you found out only after you opened your sealed blind box. The ?uestlove Air Force 1’s are on the grail list for a lot of #sneakerholics to this day. A standout amongst the thousands of Air Force 1’s ever created if anyone has the special gold toe release please upload them to the wikipedia.
