Staple x Converse Sea Star Mid "Pigeon"Most of the sneaker world, and even those who don’t know sneakers, know about the “Pigeon” Dunk Low SB’s. But how many remember the Converse Sea Star Mid that was released globally on February 7th, 2009? There was some drama and hype building up to the release of the Sea Star as colette apparently didn’t get the memo and released the limit sneaker two weeks early. But that didn’t lower the excitement and team at Staple. This included found Jeff Staple who was especially proud of the work they did on the model. “The Sea Star never existed before as a mid, only as a low. We added the mid and the puffed out collar to give it a bit of skate/city appeal.” Continue reading

Julius "Dr. J" Erving

Feeling tired? Feeling a little under the weather? As the average #sneakerholic, one grows weary of the many “trend” shoes that seem to slightly miss the point of why we love the classics. Well, the doctor is in and he’s here to check up on you, reminding you of what it means to be one of the meanest, nastiest Slam Dunk Champions the NBA has ever seen. On this day in 1950, Julius Erving was brought into this world, quite possibly to tear down every rim he saw. The history this man has made and what his impact to the sport of basketball was recognized by being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993. What he brought to sneaker history seems to go hand in hand with the Star Chevron,  making Converse the name brand it is today. Continue reading
