Officially named the Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Elite, most #sneakerholics know the first P-Rod more easily as the P-Rod 1. Not the first professional signed to Nike Skateboarding, but P-Rod was the first athlete to have his own signature sneaker under the Nike SB label, which was initially released in 2005. While the build and look was created from the mind of P-Rod and Nike SB designers, some of it’s most popular designs were created by popular artists like Futura.

One of the most prominent features of this Futura design is the usage of patent leather in black, much like the Air Jordan 11. This was no surprise as MJ is one of P-Rod’s idols and over the years we have seen plenty of Jordan inspired P-Rod builds. Offsetting with the body is neutral grey leather. Besides the colors and materials of the P-Rod 1 the Futura touch is seen in the form of specially designed graphics. From the artist’s signature on the forefoot to small detailed art. The wave graphic seen on the heels of the sneakers continue onto the special insoles. A 3-dimensional Swoosh completed the Futura design which remains one of the most sought after P-Rod builds to date.
