The Air Jordan 5 will be retroed in 2013 so we decided to look at a build that will most likely not be returning with this year’s options. Released in January of 2007, this “Rare Air” version of the AJ5 followed up on lasered version of the Air Jordan 4’s from ’05. The “Rare Air” moniker indicated not only the rarity of the build but the special lasered upper and higher price tag.

A basic white leather upper was the perfect canvas for the laser treatment. Images that were important to Jordan’s history including a variety of models were featured on the upper. Beyond the upper’s treatment, the rest of the design is very classic Air Jordan 5. The normal 3m tongue is seen along with a matching lacelock. The midsole is made up of a combination of Solar Orange and Army Olive on top of the familiar translucent outsole. The same colors are featured on the inner liner to finish off this rare Air Jordan 5. Were you able to pick these up “Rare Air” Jordans when they released?
