Sneaker Spotlight: Nike SB Dunk Low “Joe Strummer”

Nike SB Dunk Low “Joe Strummer”

Music and sneakers, a match made in heaven. Musical groups, artists and even musical instruments, as seen here, have all influenced a variety of sneakers. In 2007, as part of a special Nike SB Music Pack, a “Joe Strummer” inspired Dunk Low was released in December. Designed and colored by Baravetto, this Dunk is inspired by the Clash front man Strummer’s Fender Telecaster guitar look after the wear and tear endured over the years of rocking out.

After buying the telecaster, Joe Strummer painted over the Sunburst finish with black and grey paint. Over time with plenty of jam sessions and concerts the guitar started to wear giving it a unique look. The paint started cracking off and the guitar started showing the wear and tear of constant usage. The unique look makes it one of the most recognizable instruments in the world. The look was mimicked on the sneaker with the usage of multi-colored suede and leather with scuffed paneling added.

Did you grab a pair of these Nike SB Dunk Low “Joe Strummer” and if you did do you jam out in with them on your feet?
