Before venturing out on his own Ronnie Fieg was building up his resume working with sneaker shop David Z. The designer worked hand in hand with ASICS on a number of builds for David Z over the years. But in 2008 the model chosen was not the usual suspect, the Gel Lyte III which they had worked on multiple times before.Instead, the model chosen for this ASICS collab was the not often seen GT Quick.

The cross trainer had not been seen for quite some time and this was its unveiling look. As expected with any special ASICS product a number of premium materials were chosen to build the sneaker. Several different textured leathers, patent leather and perforated nubuck were combined to help create the overall look. Done on a black base, the addition of aqua and purple accents the design with speckling added to the midsole. Only 200 pairs were created and sold with the first 50 in-store customers receiving a high-grain white leather Onitsuka Tiger bag and matching shirt.
