RUN DMC x adidas Originals "My adidas" 25th Anniversary Superstar 80s

It was 1986 and RUN DMC started an everlasting relationship with adidas with their song “My adidas.” Last year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the strong relationship between the two we saw a new special version of the classic Superstar 80s return. As with past RUN DMC Superstars the classic white and black treatment was given to the sneaker. But there was plenty of additions to ensure that these Superstar 80’s stood out from the crowd.

The sneaker, of course, used the finest leather in the adidas warehouse. The most important addition to the design not seen on previous RUN DMC sneakers was the initials of Jam Master Jay on the rear heel to pay homage to the late artist. On the outer heel 1986 was added to ensure you knew when the partnership started. Other additional highlights on the outside were special lace locks done up in classic dookie gold-chain styling much like what the group made popular and paired with their adidas. Special tongue tags with “My addias” printed are featured, with the group’s iconic logo added to the insoles. Shine some light on a pair and you see that the black stripes and heel were done in 3M. Specially branded boxes packaged each special sneaker with only 1986 pairs created, appropriately. A great sneaker, did you get your hands on a pair of the RUN DMC x adidas Originals “My adidas” 25th Anniversary Superstar 80s?
