Hip hop’s influence on Nike SB has been apparent for a long time. Following the lead of sneakers like the De La Soul Dunk High it was no surprise to seen a Blazer Mid done up with influence from album art. This time last year the “Low End Theory” Blazer was hitting Nike SB shelves around the globe. Although not an actual collaboration, the released design left little doubt that one of, arguably, the best hip hop albums ever created, A Tribe Called Quest’s Low End Theory, gave inspiration to this build of the Blazer.

The look of the Blazer starts off with a black base in suede with the same texture added that is seen on the cover model. Red is used on the liner along with most prominent on the large Blazer Swoosh leather. To finish off the “Low End Theory” look green laces and Nike heel stitching are used. Although just released last year the album will be celebrating its 23rd anniversary this month.
Where does this Blazer rank amongst the many musically inspired-sneakers that have been created?
