The striking combination of black and yellow on a pair of Nike’s is generally associated with the LIVESTRONG Foundation. In 2009, Nike and LIVESTRONG teamed up with a diverse group of artists for a special art exhibition tour and special “Greatest Hits Pack” of sneakers.

“Stages’ brings together more than 20 of the world’s most creative and diverse artists to create original works of art inspired by Armstrong and his mission to raise awareness of the global cancer burden. This unique project brings together the world of art, philanthropy and sport, in a way never before seen, to create artwork that represents the power of human potential in overcoming adversity.”

For his contribution to the pack, New York based artist Futura went back to a rare sneaker design, the “FLOM” Dunk High. What was originally a rare Nike SB “Friends and Family” sneaker, the “For the Love Of Money” design was remixed with LIVESTRONG flavor. The money print was added in a grayscale print, rather than the full color version of the original, with the offsetting panels done up in black. Futura’s signature and FL print, laces, outsole and the all important LIVESTRONG tag on the tongue were all done up in the familiar yellow of the brand. Complete with special boxes this special sneaker was one of the most sought after in 2009. Is the LIVESTRONG x Futura x Nike Dunk High “FLOM” a part of your collection?
