Sneaker Spotlight: Ferris Bueller SB Dunks

Ferris Bueller Movie Poster

In 1986, the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off gave students around the world inspiration to skip class. Bueller’s fake sick day became one of the most memorable movies in pop culture and has inspired everything from kids skipping class, to band names and even a pair of Nike SB Dunk Highs.

In May of 2008, Nike SB released one of the many themed SB Dunks that quickly became as popular amongst sneaker enthusiasts as the original movie was amongst teenagers. The Ferris Bueller SB Dunk was inspired by Bueller’s famous outfit from the movie and the colors were worked into the classic Dunk High silhouette’s design perfectly. Shades of brown are used on the heel, toe guard and lace eyelet panels. A khaki color with a yellow hue was chosen for the toebox, as well as the upper ankle, which leads us into the most impressive aspect of the Ferris Bueller Dunk’s colorway. Leopard print, much like that which Ferris wore in the movie, is used on the inner lining and tongue. The Ferris Bueller SB Dunk also came with matching leopard print laces as the final touch on this highly collectible sneaker.
