Although combining sneakers is nothing new to the folks in Beaverton, in 2010 Nike pushed the hybrid theory with a variety of new concepts. Lunarlon was becoming the popular cushioning system at the time and one of the new hybrid models created was the Lunar Woven Chukka. To help unleash the new model to the world, Nike decided released two special quickstrike versions of the model seen here.

Both colorways of the Lunar Woven Chukka had very similar qualities. A white Lunar sole is featured on each model, while a multi-colored woven upper was a part of each design. However, the difference in the colorways can be seen with the navy or white coloring on the lace panel and heel.

The white version featured leather on its white areas whereas the navy version of the sneaker was done in premium suede. Both colorful options, nicknamed “Rainbow”, were highly sought after for their rarity and unique appearance. So much so that the navy pair is missing from the wiki, as it was the more rare colorway of the two, released only to very select Nike retailers with a smaller build number. Which colorway of the two is your preference?
