A brand like Undefeated (aka UNDFTD) has collaborated with many different sneaker brands over the years. Surprisingly, it was not until 2009 that the folks at UNDFTD had a chance to work with PUMA. This first resulted in the creation of the 24K collection. With a very open minded team at PUMA, UNDFTD wanted to make a sneaker that was both premium and wearable, so four basic Suede Mids were created in White, Black, Red and Royal while a special Gold edition brought the story together.
The premium sneakers featured an upper created from perforated suede with a embossed snakeskin stripe added to the side. The Gold treatment was given to the side branding as well as the 5-Strikes studded logo placed on the ankle. As well each sneaker was given three lace options, special insoles and a gold hang tag to complete it’s look.
With only 200 pairs of each colorway made the sneakers were hard to get in their own right. But to take the 24K theme to another level, a special Gold version of the Suede Mid was created. Different then the other four this mirrored Gold version had it’s perforations added to the side stripe and UNDFTD logo along with matching waxed laces. Only 24 pairs of these Gold versions were made and luckily a pair is present on the wiki. This rare collection that released in early 2009 was just the start of a strong relationship between UNDFTD and PUMA, as we have seen many new sneakers come from this partnership since.
