Kobe Bryant "The New Six" Air Force 1

Today one of the greatest basketball players to ever lace up a pair of sneakers celebrates his birthday. Los Angeles Lakers superstar, Kobe Bryant, turns 33 years old.

The 5 time NBA Champion and 13 time All-Star is of course no stranger to sneakerholics. His growing signature line with Nike is preparing for its 7th edition this upcoming NBA season. Not to mention the various Kobe inspired designs of non-signature silhouettes, like the above-pictured Air Force 1 uploaded by yrSOLES, that have quite the following. Even though Kobe’s Nike signature line has stolen the spotlight over the last half decade, his career began with quite a bang, while wearing adidas. Along with the “crazy” designs, adidas enlisted fellow Los Angeles based artists, Snoop Dogg and Warren G, to help get the future Hall of Famer’s sneaker legacy moving in the right direction.

adidas KobeThe early adidas Kobe designs were nothing short of head turning, and received their share of fans and critics, due to their elaborate and outside of the box designs. Over the years, the adidas Kobe line has grown in popularity, even recently with the return of the KB-8, now known as the Crazy 8, which will retro in a commemorative 1996 All-Star colorway later this year.

While Kobe celebrates his birthday, we take a look at some of the best sneakers on Sneakerpedia that are associated with the Black Mamba. But of course, we want to know what your favorite Kobe Bryant shoe is, so let us know in the comment section below.
