Sneakerpedia Launch Party Recap

Sneakerpedia Launch Party May 17th

Tuesday at Good Units in New York City, hundreds of sneaker enthusiasts gathered to help officially launch Sneakerpedia to the public. For months community members have been uploading their sneaker collections to the beta version of the Sneakerpedia website, but this night was about getting the entire community involved.

Sneaker fanatics from all around the globe came out to help celebrate the beginning of the sneaker world’s first community run wiki. Performing for the crowd were fellow sneaker collectors, Bun B, DJ Clark Kent, DJ Greg Street, Statik Selektah, and more, along with MC of the night, Mayor. Attendees were able to get their pictures taken, red carpet style, at the photo booth and upload the kicks on their feet right there on site. The Sneakerpedia party action was also shared with the world via Twitter @Sneakerpedia and the hashtag #sneakerpedia, as well as live streaming monitors throughout the venue for attendees. Most importantly though, it was an opportunity for all to meet their fellow sneaker enthusiasts from around the world.

Since Sneakerpedia is community driven, we want to hear all of your feedback. Please share with us your stories, ideas, and the experiences, like Tuesday’s launch party, that make sneakers so great! Let us know if we’re on the right path with Sneakerpedia.com. If you see room for improvement, please let us know in the feedback section at the top right hand side of the site.

If you attended be sure to find yourself in the Polite In Public gallery and tweet us your photo!
