The months of October and November of 2005 were a very exciting time for the Dunk High Pro SB as we saw the return of the “Be True To Your School” pack. With seven schools being represented, Nike SB made it expensive for many by releasing another Dunk High not part of the BTTYS group, the De La Soul version seen here.
3 Feet High and Rising was the debut album by legendary hip-hop group De La Soul and featured hit songs “Me Myself and I”, “The Magic Number”, “Buddy”, and “Eye Know”. One month earlier a Dunk Low Pro SB was released as well but the high-top version quickly overshadowed it’s little brother. The heel and strap featuring the same look as the Dunk Low and influenced directly from the 3 Feet High cover, that is where the similarities end.
Elephant print in the unique shade of Green is used around the toebox and lace panels. Brown suede took up much of the other panels while Altitude Green pops off the body used on the midsole, Swoosh and laces. Not surprising to see such a unique design to the shoe when considering the uniqueness of the group itself. How do you feel about the Dunk High “De La Soul”, is it one of your favorite Nike SB releases from the past?
